Project Title: Empowering forest adjacent communities through advocacy for effective implementation of the new forests act for social justice and economic benefits
Grant Type: NRM Advocacy | Grant Period: 9 Months

Project Description: FAN advocates for an improved policy and legislative framework for the sustainable management of natural resources in Kenya. FAN is receiving support to create awareness among community forest associations (CFAs), the public and other stakeholders by educating them on their roles and responsibilities as stipulated in the Forests Act 2005; Support various structures and institutions established by the Forests Act 2005 to understand their respective roles so as to effectively implement the Act; and, to address technical capacity gaps of FAN project staff in order to work with other stakeholders to monitor the implementation of the Forests Act 2005.
