ACTIONAID INTERNATIONAL KENYA (AAIK)
Founded: 1972
Project Title: Just and Democratic Governance
Grant Type: Large DG 
Project Description: ActionAid works with poor and marginalized people to eradicate poverty. AAIK has been in Kenya for over 30 years and works with over one million poor people in 19 Development Initiatives (DIs) spread in 23 districts in Kenya. The organization is concerned with issues of injustice, poverty and development. AAIK is implementing a 12 month activity to develop and nurture audit groups of community devolved funds. The project activities will inculcate and strengthen a culture of civic participation, good governance, transparency and accountability in the allocation and use of devolved funds.

AFRICA YOUTH TRUST (AYT)
Founded: 2005
Project Title: Youth Action against Corruption
Grant Type: Large DG         
Project Description: Africa Youth Trust (AYT) is an initiative of the African Youth Parliament in collaboration with other youth groups and was created specifically to spearhead a youth-led development model in Kenya with a view to replication in other African countries. AYT’s 12 month project will design a guide to aid youth to understand the different facets of corruption and to develop a toolkit for action to be used in the fight against corruption to strengthen good governance. AYT will champion the formation of a network of youth working to fight corruption in Kenya. The network’s aim will be to support local action, create knowledge networks and awareness and input into the ongoing fight against corruption.

CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL LEGAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION (CREEL) 
Founded: 2001
Project Title: Enhancing access to environmental justice in Kenya
Grant Type: NRM Advocacy
CREEL advocates for good environmental governance through research, training and publication of environmental resources. CREEL’s KCSSP project will train judges, magistrates and prosecutors on environmental law enforcement; publishing a compendium on environmental laws, policies and regulations; and development of a national strategy for access to environmental justice.

CENTRE FOR GOVERNANCE AND DEVELOPMENT (CGD)
Founded: 1993
Project Title: Engendering the provision of Agricultural and Livestock Extension Services in Kenya
Grant Type: Large DG 
Project Description: CGD is a Kenyan policy research and advocacy organization which works to ensure an informed, equitable, democratic and prosperous Kenya committed to the Rule of Law. It has sought to achieve this through research, dissemination, coalition building and awareness creation. CGD’s support from KCSSP will increase gender sensitivity in the provision of agricultural and livestock extension services in Kenya through, research, policy advocacy, and capacity building.

COAST DEVELOPMENT LOBBY GROUP (CDLG)
Founded: 2003
Project Title: Strengthening Community Accountability Support Structures to effectively participate in the Management of LATF funded projects through LASDAP process.
Grant Type: Small DG
Project Description: CDLG is a community based organization that seeks to influence formulation and implementation of development projects in the Coast Province. CDLG support over 12 months will strengthen community structures to hold the Mombasa Municipal Council and the Ministry of Local Government accountable in the utilization of the Local Authority Transfer Fund (LATF) funds.

FAMILY SUPPORT INSTITUTE (FASI)
Founded: 1994
Project Title: Community Participation in Monitoring and Management of constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Kakamega,
Butere Mumias and Busia Districts in Western Province
Grant Type: Large DG
Project Description: FASI seeks to empower adolescents and youth to live quality lives, through capacity building, research information and data, community resource centers, information and communication technologies (ICTs), partnerships and networks, and gender mainstreaming.  Under KCSSP, FASI will establish a framework for contributing to improvement in the management of Constituency Development Funds (CDF) and the effective participation by communities and CSOs.

INSTITUTE OF POLICY ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH (IPAR)
Founded: 1994
Project Title: Governance & Development Program Core (Public Policy Process in Kenya)
Grant Type: Large DG
Project Description: IPAR) is an independent, indigenous and non-partisan organization established to conduct data based social science policy analysis and research, and training, with the aim of improving human welfare in Kenya. It is receiving support to conduct research and analysis to identify factors constraining effective management of public institutions and resources in Kenya and to positively influence the management of public institutions and resources by disseminating research findings and policy recommendations to relevant stakeholders including the Government and interested civil society organizations.

WOMEN IN LAW AND DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA (WILDAF-K)
Founded: 1996
Project Title: The Sexual Offences Act: A working tool for law Enforcers
Grant Type: Small DG 
Project Description:  WILDAF-K works to ensure that every woman and child from every sector in society is accorded her rights and lives in freedom free from violence and given opportunity to enjoy her/his life. WILDAF-K will equip law enforcement agents with an understanding of the basic forms of sexual offences; the law enforcement agents’ role and responsibilities with regard to the legal and/or due process; and the minimum sentences provided by the Sexual Offences Act.
